South Wales Golf and Culture

With an expected 190,000 golf visitors anticipated to visit South Wales this year it’s fair to say that one of the best kept secrets in golf has been uncovered. The interest generated with the Celtic Manor being awarded the Ryder Cup in 2010 has steadily brought more and more Golf enthusiasts to the area, and many now return year after year!

South Wales has a rich golfing heritage with many clubs over 100 years old and two of our chosen clubs, Southerndown and Glamorganshire have fascinating history’s going back well over 100 years and a tour of the club history boards and bars is a must and both being private members clubs are a privilege to play with fantastic courses.

The main thing that hits you in South Wales Golf clubs is how proud the members are of their clubs and also how welcoming they all make you feel.

The Celtic Manor resort is now an established name on the European Tour with the Wales Open being hosted there every year and of course the Ryder Cup in 2010.

Whatever you’re choice of golf clubs for your Competition you will be amazed at the diversity of the courses and will come away feeling you had tasted a unique Golfing Experience in a beautiful and historic area.
